Consisting of three interconnected floors, this cavern has an interesting formation and development feature. At the bottom of the cavern is the spring and cavern that contributes to the drinking water of Safranbolu, and above it, there is a partially completed middle floor, which has beautiful stalactites and stalagmites, columns, wall and curtain dripstones. The natural beauty of the cavern and its surroundings and preserved authentic structures make the region touristic.
The mouth of the Bulak cavern, located in a deep rocky valley, can be reached by climbing a ladder with approximately 150 steps on one wall of this valley. At the end of the corridor, which winds 20-30 meters from the entrance, which is reached by stairs, the ceiling of the cavern suddenly rises by 20 meters.
At this point, a magnificent view welcomes you. The different types of stalactites the cavern has stand side by side with their rough and flat surfaces turning from white to brown. You have to move forward by climbing the metal steps in a few places.
There is a waterfall and two separate lakes ahead of the cavern, which has 3 interconnected entrances. Although the underground river flowing inside the cavern is not open to visitors, it falls from a 15-meter waterfall and forms a small lake. The water mixed with the underground rises to the surface and reaches the village of Bulak and the center of Safranbolu.
