The Clock Tower, located on the Castle in the middle of the valley, where Safranbolu historical monuments are exhibited together, is the Sultan III. It was built by Selim's grand vizier from Safranbolu, İzzet Mehmet Pasha, between 1794 and 1797. Safranbolu Clock Tower is the oldest clock tower in our country that is in working condition and can be climbed into. The Clock Tower, which is also the oldest structure of the castle, is a simple structure with a square plan of 4.65 x 4.65, 12 meters high, stone walls and a ridge roof. There is only one entrance door on the side facing the Old Prison. There are two rectangular windows on all four sides of the clock room, which is reached by a staircase rising vertically to the tower. Its interior lighting is provided by grating holes.
