Located in the Lower Dana Village, about 8 km from the center of Safranbolu, Hızar cavern is located at the beginning of the Tokatlı Canyon, which was formed as a result of the erosion of the limestone field by the Hızar Stream. It was formed within the old limestones belonging to the Eocene Period. The cavern, which has an altitude of 900 meters, which can also be reached via Sarıçiçek Mountain, has not yet been fully explored and therefore has not been opened to tourism.

The horizontally developed cavern with a wide entrance consists of a main corridor and two side corridors connected to this main corridor. In the cavern with underground water, there are karstic shapes such as stalactites and stalagmites as a result of the underground waters dissolving the limestones and shaping them. Groundwater is clean as it percolates and is therefore used as drinking water.
